Ceramic Inlays & Onlays
Ceramic inlays and onlays are custom-made restorations used when a tooth is too damaged for a simple filling but does not necessarily require a full crown.
An inlay sits within the tooth.
An onlay extends over one or more cusps (the raised parts of the tooth) to provide additional strength.
These restorations are:
Designed to strengthen weakened areas
Bonded to the remaining tooth structure
Fabricated with a high level of precision
Treatment typically involves two appointments:
Preparation and impressions
Placement and bonding of the final ceramic restoration
When bonded correctly, ceramic materials can provide excellent strength while supporting a more conservative, longevity-focused outcome.
What If I’m Unsure What I Need?
