Ceramic Inlays & Onlays

Ceramic inlays and onlays are custom-made restorations used when a tooth is too damaged for a simple filling but does not necessarily require a full crown.

An inlay sits within the tooth.

An onlay extends over one or more cusps (the raised parts of the tooth) to provide additional strength.

These restorations are:

  • Designed to strengthen weakened areas

  • Bonded to the remaining tooth structure

  • Fabricated with a high level of precision

Treatment typically involves two appointments:

  1. Preparation and impressions

  2. Placement and bonding of the final ceramic restoration

When bonded correctly, ceramic materials can provide excellent strength while supporting a more conservative, longevity-focused outcome.

What If I’m Unsure What I Need?

Many patients arrive unsure of what treatment is appropriate.

That is completely normal.

Treatment recommendations are always based on a comprehensive assessment. During your consultation, we explain findings clearly and outline options so you can make informed decisions without pressure.
